Tara Hall of Fame

Tara VanDerveer, architect of one the nation's elite women's basketball programs over the past 28 years, became the ninth women's coach to be elected into to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. She was enshrined on August 12, 2011 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Atlanta Tip-Off Club named the Cardinal Coach the 2011 Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year. She also collected the honors from the WBCA and Associated Press.

WELCOME TO TARA HOOPS 2013 SUMMER CAMP


For the past 28 summers on the Stanford Campus, Coach Tara VanDerveer and her staff have been committed to instructing girls of all ages how to develop and master the skills of this wonderful game of basketball. 38 CURRENT and FORMER STANFORD BASKETBALL PLAYERS ATTENDED TARA VANDERVEER BASKETBALL CAMP WHEN THEY WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL.

In a storied 35-year coaching career, Coach Tara VanDerveer has established herself as one of the top coaches in the history of both collegiate and international women's basketball. Regarded in the profession as one of the most well-respected and dynamic coaches in the country, VanDerveer has enjoyed an unprecedented level of success through an energetic and positive approach to the game. VanDerveer is only the sixth women's coach to reach the elite 800 win mark.

The TVBE (TARA VANDERVEER BASKETBALL ENTERPISES's) Camp Staff is outstanding,knowledgeable and eager to help expand young player's basketball skills combined with having Fun with the Fundamentals!

Day Camp focuses on teaching the fundamental skills and introducing basic game strategy. This is an outstanding camp for those just learning the game and for those already playing on a team in 8th grade or under. Day Camp is packed with fun and energy! Camper's bring their own lunch.

Elite Camp : Provides a positive learning environment to help each camper improve her overall fundamental skills as well as focus on position breakdown work and individual skill development. Ages 10 to 18 years with two options:
• Overnight Campers - stay in the Dorms, meals in dorms.
• Commuter Campers - dropped off and picked up daily. Meals are included.

All Camps feature:
• Daily instruction and stations focused on dribbling, ball-handling, shooting, rebounding and defensive techniques.

• Campers compete on teams (no score kept) in order to transfer their individual skills to team concepts.

• Campers are divided into leagues by both age and ability. All skills levels are accommodated.

• Fun with Fundamentals!
