** Camp is open to any and all entrants, recommended for all skill levels from the advanced beginner to top high school level.

2014 BASKETBALL CAMP

 

Tara VanDerveer, architect of one the nation's elite women's basketball programs over the past 28 years, became the ninth women's coach to be elected into to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. She was enshrined on August 12, 2011 in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 2002, she was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

On November 27,2013, VanDerveer became just the fifth Division I women’s coach to record 900 wins. The elite club also includes Pat Summitt (1,098), Sylvia Hatchell (908), C. Vivian Stringer (905) and Jody Conradt (900).

In a storied 34-year coaching career, Tara VanDerveer has established herself as one of the top coaches in the history of both collegiate and international women's basketball.She is regarded in the profession as one of the most well-respected and dynamic coaches in the country!


An ambassador for both Stanford University and the sport of college basketball, VanDerveer has enjoyed an unprecedented level of success through an energetic and positive approach to the game. A 15-time conference coach of the year (13 Pac-12, two Big Ten), VanDerveer has accumulated an impressive 894-203 (.815) record over her 34-year career.

  

For the past 28 summers on the Stanford Campus, Coach Tara VanDerveer and her staff have been committed to instructing girls of all ages how to develop and master the skills of this wonderful game of basketball.  The staff is outstanding,knowledgeable and eager to help expand young player's basketball skills combined with having Fun with the Fundamentals!

Join Coach VanDerveer this summer for a fun filled - fundamental Girls basketball camp experience!

Day Camp: Ages 8-13 ( 8th grade and under)

Focuses on teaching the fundamental skills and introducing basic game strategy. This is an outstanding camp for those just learning the game and for those already playing on a team in 8th grade or under. Day Camp is packed with fun and energy! Camper's bring their own lunch.

 

Elite Camp: Ages 10 to 18 years.

Provides a positive learning environment to help each camper improve her overall fundamental skills as well as focus on position breakdown work and individual skill development. 

          Elite camp two options: 

           Overnight Campers - stay in the Dorms, meals in dorms.

         Commuter Campers - dropped off and picked up daily, meals in dorms included.

 

All Camps feature: 
• Daily instruction and stations focused on dribbling, ball-handling, shooting, rebounding and defensive techniques. 

• Campers compete on teams (no score kept) in order to transfer their individual skills to team concepts. 

• Campers are divided into leagues by both age and ability. All skills levels are accommodated. 

• Fun with Fundamentals!
